Information assessment of transformation of variability of properties of arable Chernozems

The information study was carried out on the basis of databases on soil properties in a significant territory of the south of Western Siberia. The data bank was created based on archival materials from large-scale (1: 25,000) soil studies conducted by standard methods. The results show that under the influence of processes caused by anthropogenic impact and climatic changes, changes in the probability-statistical distributions of properties and their information characteristics occur in the soil profile. Information changes in different soil properties are not the same, they depend on the physical nature of the properties and soil formation processes caused by anthropogenic influences and climate changes. Information characteristics made it possible to give a comparative quantitative assessment of the severity of transformation processes of various properties in individual layers of soils, as well as within their lithological varieties.
