Evaluation of the viability and functional activity of Bacillus subtilis Fb22 in tank mixtures with broad-spectrum herbicides

In order to develop measures to protect spring soft wheat from fungal diseases, the possibility of using the Bacillus subtilis Fb22 strain, which exhibits antagonistic properties against phytopathogenic fungi and stimulates germination energy, germination and growth of cereal crops, in tank mixtures with broad-spectrum herbicides Fultime, OD and Paradox, WSC was assessed (Firm "August", Russia). It has been shown that the concentrations of herbicides (Paradox, WSC - 4 ml/l of working solution, Fulltime, OD - 6.4 ml/l of working solution) in an experiment conducted in laboratory conditions do not inhibit the vital activity of bacteria after exposure for 4 days, while the number of microorganisms in the tank mixture remains at the level of 104 cells/ml of working solution. The fungicidal activity of the B. subtilis Fb22 strain has been established against a number of phytopathogenic fungi (Alternaria alternata, Fusarium poae, F. graminearum, F. oxysporum, Cochliobolus sativus, Botrytis byssoidea). It was revealed that when the B. subtilis Fb22 strain is jointly incubated with herbicides, the biological product retains its fungicidal properties against a number of phytopathogenic fungi for 4 days. The fundamental possibility of combined use of bacterial preparations based on B. subtilis strains in tank mixtures with broad-spectrum herbicides has been shown.
