Cotton cultivation under arid conditions of the Republic of Kalmykia |

The results of field studies on agroecological variety testing of cotton under arid conditions of the Republic of Kalmykia with drip irrigation are considered. It was established that the total number of mature fruits in varieties AS-1 and AS-5 was 35-38% of the total number of bolls on plants. The average yield of raw cotton over the years of research according to the variants of the experiment was 21.80-24.47 c/ha, while the yield of fiber varies from 7.62 to 8.51 c/ha. The percentage of fiber output is more than 34%.The largest mass of 1000 seeds was formed at the first harvest in variety AS-1 - 134.4 g. The seed yield in the experimental variants was 14.18-15.96 c/ha.
