Geobotanical Surveys of the Nadym River Floodplain

Within the framework of the priority national project "Development of the agro-industrial complex", one of the main directions of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region is the accelerated development of animal husbandry. In this regard, there is a need to create sustainable, productive and long-term meadows based on valuable species of native grasses with productive longevity, a high degree of adaptability to the natural and climatic conditions of the region and stress factors. The purpose of this study was to provide a geobotanical description of the floodplain meadows of the Nadym River in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region. The results of geobotanical surveys have shown that sphagnum-grass and shrub-sphagnum groups of communities predominate in the floodplain of the Nadym River, but their use for fodder lands without preliminary reclamation is not possible. Grass and grass-shrub groups of communities are more promising for fodder production, the average hay yield is 17-33 c/ha.
