Study of flora and vegetation in the vicinity of Saranpaul village (Berezovsky district, KhMAO-Yugra)

A conspectus of the vascular flora in the vicinity of Saranpaul village of the Beryozovsky District, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra has been compiled. It includes 144 species belonging to 45 families and 112 genera. The major families are Asteraceae, Poaceae, and Rosaceae. The flora under study is mesophytic. The widest diversity of species is characteristic of osier beds, dry meadows and mixed forests. Boreal plants of Eurasian range are prevalent in the region. In the vicinity of Saranpaul village, a rare species of Aster sibiricus was found. Five more rare species were observed in the Nether-Polar Urals, near Mount Neroyka: Seseli condensatum, Rhodiola rosea, Huperzia selago, Anemonastrum biarmiense and Castilleja arctica ssp. vorkutensis. New localities not included in the Red Book of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra were recorded for Seseli condensatum and Huperzia selago, which can be used in the mapping of rare species in the new edition of the region’s Red Book.
