Ecological assessment of soil organic matter

The paper shows that soil organic matter is important not only in the processes of genesis and evolution of soils, in soil fertility, but also in the environmental assessment of components of biogeocenoses. The humus content in soils is also taken into account in the assessment of optimal soil properties and MPC criteria. Organic compounds of soils and complex compounds of organic ligands enter plants, but at the same time migrate into water and air environments, changing their ecological state. The properties of humus compounds significantly change the sorption properties of soils, hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of soils, have stimulating and inhibitory ability, anti-pathogenic function. As a result of the mutual influence of soil transformation processes under the influence of humus compounds, the information and energy assessment of soil organic matter is manifested.
