Physico-chemical assessment of humus compounds of soils

The work shows the informative value for agroecological and genetic evaluation of humus compounds of soils of determining their complexing ability, the capacity of absorption of cations, the kinetics of displacement from the solid phase of soils into solution, the pKa of functional groups, IR spectra of positively and negatively charged compounds of humus substances. The difference in the values of these indicators for different types of soils, horizons, soils with different degrees of anaerobiosis development is shown. It is proved that an in-depth physico-chemical assessment of humus compounds of soils makes it possible to give them a more complete agro-ecological characteristic necessary for more effective regulation of the humus balance in soils.
