Zooplankton of the Vilyui region lakes

The paper presents the results of studies of summer zooplankton of some lakes in the Vilyui region in 2008, 2010, 2011. The zooplankton of the studied lakes consisted of 63 species. Representatives of the group of branched crustaceans formed the basis of species diversity. The families Brachionidae, Daphniidae, and Cyclopidae were most widely represented in terms of the number of species. The composition of species and the structure of communities are mainly typical for reservoirs and streams of the Vilyui region. Our studies have shown a low anthropogenic pressure on lakes located at a distance from settlements. These lakes can be classified as oligotrophic with clear waters. In contrast to the aforementioned oligotrophic lakes, lakes located directly near settlements are eutrophic with polluted waters.
