Additional principles of mixborders formation

The article raises the issue of increasing the stability of mixborders by developing additional principles for their formation. Data on the architecture of root systems of perennial plants are presented. Laboratory studies were conducted for the presence of allelopathically active substances in the leaves and root secretions of perennial plants (biotests), the germination of test cultures in various extracts was investigated, more and less active plants were identified. The paper shows the absence of a reliable effect of extracts from the soil as a possible source of accumulated growth inhibitors released by ornamental crops.
