Effect of heavy metal pollution on the total number of bacteria in the soils of the Central Ciscaucasia and the Caucasus

Studies have been carried out to determine the total number of bacteria contaminated with heavy metals (lead, chromium, nickel, copper) for the main soils of the Central Caucasus and the Caucasus. The dependence of the toxic effect of heavy metals on the total number of bacteria on the type of pollutant was obtained: Cr > Cu ≥ Pb ≥ Ni. It has been established that the number of bacteria in the soils of the Central Caucasus and the Caucasus varies significantly in resistance to heavy metal contamination (soils are located as their resistance decreases): mountain meadow turf > mountain meadow chernozem > leached chernozem ≥ ordinary chernozem = typical chernozem (mountain) ≥ podzolized chernozem = mountain meadow sod-peat ≥ sod-carbonate ≥ mountain meadow-steppe = dark gray forest > brown forest slightly unsaturated.
