Approaches to assessing the effectiveness of measures on biological recultivation technogenically transformed soils of agricultural designation

A brief analysis of modern normative acts of the Russian Federation dealing with issues of degradation and reclamation of soils of agricultural lands under agrotechnogenic impact is given. Algorithm of evaluation of efficiency of carrying out recultivation works where the quality of recovery of fertility of earlier man-caused disturbed soils after completing the stage of biological recultivation is evaluated not only with respect to the characteristic of the background but also in comparison with the characteristic of the soil after the technical stage of recultivation is offered. It is recommended to use basic agrochemical indicators, traditional in characterizing soil fertility, as evaluation indicators. The work provides the results of the evaluation of the state of the soil profile and the root-inhabited layer of podzoled chernozem, earlier disturbed during the repair-construction works on the trunk pipeline, as per the content of humus, labile compounds of phosphorus and potassium, soil acidity, the sum of the absorbed bases and the degree of saturation of soils with bases. The evaluation system has been tested when preparing a conclusion on the effectiveness of reclamation activities in man-made agricultural landscapes of the Volga Federal District of Russia and may be applied in the soil-climatic zones of other regions of Russia.
