Heavy metals in the magnetic phase and nodules of the agricultural soils

One of the tasks for monitoring the safety of the environment is the ecological and geochemical assessment of the soil. Heavy metals tend to pollute agricultural soils located in the zone of influence of industrial enterprises. This study consists of ecological magnetism methods for assessing the content of heavy metals in agricultural soil. The studies were carried out within the reference area of the Agrochemical Service of the Perm region. Ancient alluvial deposits are the bedrock of the studied soil. The magnetic phase of the bedrock contains more heavy metals than the magnetic phase of the topsoil. Gleying reduces the concentration of heavy metals in the magnetic particles of the topsoil. Iron-manganese nodules accumulate Mn, Cr, V, Zn, Ni, Cu, Co. The arable topsoil is polluted with nickel relative to the maximum permitted concentration (MPC) of chemical elements in the soil.
