Ecological assessment of marigolds (Tagetes erecta) as phytoremediants

The use of Tagetes erecta in the technology of phytoremediation of soils contaminated with lead ions under the conditions of a growing experiment was studied. Plants were grown on soil with added salt solutions (PbSO4), corresponding to concentrations of 1 MPC, 5 MPC, 10 MPC. The obtained data testify to the high resistance of Tagetes erecta to lead accumulation. Based on the values of the coefficient of biological absorption and migration of lead in plant organs, it was found that it is not an element that actively accumulates in the root system of plants, but at the same time is capable of moving to the aerial part. According to the accumulation of lead in the organs of the plant, marigolds can be attributed to the barrier type and they can be recommended for green building even with a high technogenic load.
