Analysis of the state of vegetation cover on the territory of protected areas using remote sensing

Protected areas of different types use as an instrument for reaching different goals. Physical verification and investigation of environmental resources are necessary. The “Tsymlyanskiy” state reserve territory is located on one of the unique Rostov and Volgograd sand massifs. The vegetation of the object is represented by intrazonal natural plant communities and artificial forestries. During the reserve’s vegetation inventory, methods were used: benchmarking technique, field study, and building the digital elevation model based on the data from SRTM3. Seven vegetation types were identified, and the main patterns of their dissemination were revealed.
