The study self-fertility of perspective cherry cultivars in the Lower Volga region for focused selection and creation of monolitnykh spaces
As a result of long-term field trials in the conditions of the Lower Volga region in the level of self-fertility, prospective varieties of cherry of the ordinary domestic breeding Loznovskaya, Garantiya, Tilda, Sharada, Lyubimitsa, Athena, Melody, Autonomna, Lexma, Lydia, Ceres, Dubovskaya Fertile, Colorful, Reliable and Hybrid No. 2516. The studies were carried out in field works according to generally accepted methods on the basis of the Nizhny-Volzhsky Research Institute of Agriculture - a branch of Federal Science Center agroecology, integrated reclamation and protective afforestation RAS. The reliability of the data obtained and confirmed by statistical methods. For use in breeding for specified characteristics, the sources of self-fertility are identified - varieties Loznovskaya, Garantiya, Tilda, Sharada and hybrid No. 2516. The best pollinators are Lubskaja and Rastunja varieties - have been chosen for self-fertile varieties. Self-fertilized varieties of cherry Loznovsky, Guarantee, Tilda, Sharada are recommended for creation in the Lower Volga region of modern mono-grade plantations of various technological orientation.
