The use of different feed additives in nutrition of calves

For farms specialized in milk production and the rearing of cattle, there is the problem of balancing rations for their most scarce component – protein. Currently, the issue in the vast majority of cases is solved by incorporating in the diets of either high doses of feed, or through the use of various high-protein feed additives, including those produced on dry milk basis. These methods are quite expensive, which negatively affects the cost of milk production and live weight gain of animals. The situation determines the necessity of research in search of new alternative sources of inexpensive protein with nutritive value for humans. This article attempts to summarize experience in the use of feed additives of different origin in the rations of young cattle.
