Assessing of influence of a caesium-137 radionuclide on the ecological condition of soils and plants

Natural and agrocnosises of Oryol area as a result of failure on the Chernobyl atomic power station in 1986 have undergone to a considerable radioactive pollution. The high density of pollution by caesium-137 (5-15 Êu/êì ?) is observed in small territories in regions Bolhovsky, Dmitrovsky, Trosnjansky, Znamensky of Oryol area.
Conducting research on gray forest soils under forest plantations and arable land has allowed to establish the intensity of accumulation of radionuclide Cs- 137 in soil and in different types of plants. The maximum accumulation of radionuclides is observed in the soils occupied with forest plantations, and here, in turn, – in a Forest floor layer where fluctuations in the content of radionuclide caesium-137 – within 377-592 Bk/kg, in a mineral part of soil the content of radionuclides decreases to 429-540 Bk/kg.
